Defining “Global Leadership”
Thus far (in life as well as in the context of my current work), I think I’ve been imagining the concepts of “global” and “leadership” as separate attributes of a single entity. That is, a person can be “global” and they can be a “leader”, and those two things together make someone a “global leader”. However, if the objective of the Global Leadership Certificate program is to cultivate and train Memorial students to become Global Leaders, then defining the two concepts together is a key component of the program’s design.
So what is global leadership, the concept that this program will develop in its students? And in addition to describing global leadership in the abstract, what does a global leader do? Finally, how can this definition simultaneously be ultimately comprehensive and pragmatically operational?
I’ll post more on this as I move forward!
